Apprentices receive the Apprentice Rate if under 19, or in their first year. If aged 19+ and past their first year, they are entitled to the full National Minimum Wage for their age bracket. All study and training hours (including the mandatory 20% off-the-job training) must be fully paid.
Tax & Thresholds
Apprentices pay standard UK Income Tax and National Insurance. The tax-free Personal Allowance is £12,570 per year. Earnings below this threshold are not subject to Income Tax.
